Winged Migration co-directors Jacques Cluzaud and Jacques Perrin re-team for this documentary produced for Walt Disney Studios' Disneynature banner and exploring the many mysteries of our planet's oceans. Almost three-quarters of the earth's surface is covered by oceans, yet strangely we seem to know more about deep space than the world of the sea. Horseshoe crabs scuttle like possessed Nazi helmets and a school of fish morphs from dreidel to disco ball, as if choreographed by Busby Berkeley.
While it may not plunge deeply enough, Oceans continues the worthy efforts of explorers such as Jacques Cousteau, reminding us to respect nature and preserve the myriad life forms that rely on the ocean to survive.
Boasts extraordinary images rendered with a clarity sure to become a touchstone for nature docus; even viewers who don't care about fish will find plenty to exclaim about.
Dazzling nature doc chooses poetry and wonder over storytelling and effects.
This really is a film that manages to show us things we've never seen and make what we have already seen look different and new.

Quite the beautiful picture to look at, but the person who swims with the Great White is totally insane.
Could the script have been less informative? Could it have been more soporifically read than Pierce Brosnan's rendition? I don't think so.
Visually [it's] quite seductive.
This documentary about our oceans and the animals and wonders that inhabit it is absolutely stunning. Some images seem so unreal and unseen that you wonder if you are watching a special effect. But you aren't. The film-makers must have had thousands of hours of footage and picked the highlights. They leave you

Visually the movie is very good, with great footage of
